Four Simple Steps

Step 1

 What you need to know!

Knowledge is power

Step 2

We will gather and collate your financials for you.

Step 3

Together, we will meet with your lawyer and submit your financials.

Step 4

Congrats! We can now plan your financially independent future.

Step 1

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW – KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
The Workshop Phase (Hour of Power Workshop): Ready to roll up your sleeves as we educate you about your separation financials:
Let‘s start with a Checklist:
• How to protect your privacy & online security
• How to protect your finances
• What key persons/organisations need to be notified
• What key personal and financial documents need to be secured
Next:
• What are the steps in the property settlement process
• What is a Balance Sheet
• What are Assets and Liabilities, Superannuation, Income and Expenses
• What are Contributions
• What else do I need to consider
The workshop helps you understand the key steps in the property settlement process with a focus on the important practical steps that you will need to action. With this knowledge, you can start to ‘get your ducks in a row’ and be as prepared as possible.

Step 2

LET’S TAKE ACTION!

Following on from the workshop, this step is where we will take action and summarise all of your financial and other relevant information. This information can be provided to your family lawyer, mediator, financial advisor, etc to allow them to provide relevant advice on your family law matter.
Gather and Collate Financials:
Now we assist you in preparing the relevant information required for your Separation Financials.
Know Your Numbers:
  • Assets, Liabilities, and Superannuation - Let’s prepare your Balance Sheet
  • Income and Expenses
  • Contributions
Relationship Timeline:
Let’s summarise the key milestones during your relationship – family, property, business…

Step 3

WHAT WE DO WITH THAT INFORMATION

Together, we will attend meetings with your family lawyer and present your financial information. We will prepare you with all the key questions you must ask your family lawyer. No need to worry about leaving questions unanswered.
Prefer to visit your family lawyer alone? No problem. We will still provide your lawyer with a summary of your circumstances and provide you with a list of key questions to ask at your meeting.

DIG A LITTLE DEEPER?
You may want to ‘dig a little deeper’ into financials. No problem…
• To understand your ex-partner’s disclosure documents
• To consider ‘missing’ assets and liabilities
• To understand what happened with financials during your relationship

Step 4

MOVING FORWARD

Congratulations! You are well on your way to financial independence.

Throughout our working together, we can refer you to our network of trusted advisors to support you as required.

They include:

  • Financial Advisors
  • Family Lawyers
  • Property Advisors
  • Health and Well-being Therapists

BUDGETING - post separation period

It is important to understand where your money is going and to plan for your short-term and long-term financial security. Your life after separation will often require changes to your lifestyle and spending habits – a carefully planned budget will help you monitor your spending and establish your future financial security.

I felt very supported by Julie from start to finish with my financial settlement. She accompanied me to meetings with my Accountant and Solicitor thus reducing the amount of time and money needed to spend with them. She explained everything in layman terms. Julie was always just a phone call away 24/7.
I can’t imagine the stress I would have endured without her. A fantastic service and highly recommended.
